The summer is rocking along and the extra exposure Kiteboarding is getting in the media is having a real benefit to our industry. So we can hold back that recession for a bit longer I hope.
Actually our sport is growing rather well and with over 40 kites on the water at Orewa on Sunday and many more lining the beach the numbers are looking really good.
Our own training program has been running well and it's been great having Colin join the team.
Best have announced the new KAHOONA Delta shaped kite. We will get some demo ones in as soon as they are ready.
It is a model aimed at Wave riders and Intermediate level riders. So a touch below the Waroo in terms of outright performance.
But it's fair to expect a range of differing benefits that will suit many rider in other ways.
Near automatic relaunch and idiot proof kite handling doesn't mean it's a kite only for the newbies. History shows that riders will push to new levels of extreme, if their kites gives them an inch more security.
So look out, this might be a must have for your quiver. I'm expecting a lot of interest in the small sizes for the NZ storms and harsh wave riding conditions.
