SHOP NEWS - The new BULAROO kite shipment has arrived.
Yeah I know its a crazy time to land a dozen 13m kites, but once you have tried one you will know why we have.
The BULAROO is a wicked kite to fly and with the WAROO sitting firmly as the #1 selling kite in the World, the designers had to put their creative talent to good use to up the game another notch. And that they have. This kite is packed with all the features and benefits of the WAROO and then some. As most people reading this are existing kiters I will just go over some of the developments and the feel of the kite so you know what's new and you can decide for yourself if this is the next kite you will treat yourself to.
First off it's great to have a choice, Waroo or Bularoo.
The One-Pump single point inflation system is a perk, no denying that. The kite inflates like a charm.
The system differs from most on the market as it is an internal and valved system. So no external tubes or other clutter causing problems. Just a fully refined and functional system. So sweet, pump one point and you're away!
When you hit the water you instantly feel the familiar power control of the Waroo but it's a little different.
The kite is a little more full in shape and holds power easier. I have ridden the 10m and the 13m BULAROO and was really impressed with both sizes. The bar pressure is slightly heavier than the Waroo so the BULAROO feels more powered.
It also feels very precise to fly, kind of set and forget. leaving you to concentrate on your new move.
This means you tend to whip the jumps harder and higher because you can and it lets you get away with it.
I was enjoying some cracker jumps at Shakespeare bay this week on my first session on that size.
Jumping from the 10m to the 13m is a breeze, you can even mix up your quiver with the Waroo kites without fear.
The BULAROO feels a little slower in the turn than the Waroo that might be due to the heavier bar feel. It's a good thing anyway you look at it. Means you won't over cook a trick accidentally.
So definitely more of a kite with Kick and float and the heavier feel on the bar feels really positive.
You know where the kite is at all times and this lends itself to inverted tricks and kite loops without so much fear.
The 10m was a dream in the waves and I'm looking forward to getting the 13 out there too.
Mark T was throwing down some sweet unhooked moves on his new 10m this week at Shakers. Mark is stoked with his riding since he purchased the BULAROO. As I'm sure you will be too.
So I rate them very high indeed. And thats why we decided to add them into the range next to the Waroo.
It is the hot new thing! The BULAROO is not limited to just the hardcore wake-style and wave riders, although they are going to be lining up for it. As it is also perfectly suited to most other rider levels.
The BULAROO is a kite with similar features and performance to the WAROO, it delivers a different feel and feedback to the rider.
It's no wonder BEST Kiteboarding are the No.1 Kite company in the World!
And the BEST thing is... the new BULAROO kites are here now sitting in the shop.

Video - Jess and I have been mucking around with the camera and if you have never put a bladder in a kite (first time for everything) we have a video clip almost ready for the web site. OK so maybe you wanted to see kite action, we have some of that too. Joel, Blair and one of his mates were Wahooing! around Pine harbour in 30 knots on their 7 & 9m Waroos last weekend. I caught i bit of that action for you. I then shot up to Shoal bay and the guys were out on their 13m Waroos learning a few jumps too. So a cracker of a day for chasing the wind. For once it wasn't my day, but at least I bagged some footage to practice my editing skills. I will put it online as soon as I cut it together.
WAROO Kites - The new 2007 range of WAROO kites are simply stunning.
We have the full range in store and the colours are sensational. With the increasing wind strengths arriving around NZ we stocked up on the 9m sizes, this has proven to be the optimum size to compliment the 13m.
You can ride the 9m on the same 45cm control bar as the 13m, it's super fast and delivers a wind range like no other kite.
It will handle gusty condition up over 30 knots and also get you riding in under 20 knots.
We have a couple available in the highly sought after Fluro Orange and Black, but only if you get in quick.
Cheers Lee.
